Project Name: Twitition
Client: Branded3
Project Overview
The marketing world is buzzing with talk about Twitter and yet very few brands really understand how to execute a successful Twitter marketing campaign.
We decided to use our experience in search and social media to come up with a neat idea which we could take to brands & agencies as a case study to demonstrate the potential of Twitter.
Solution
Our idea is simple – users can create and sign petitions using Twitter. The key is that several viral elements combine to ensure that petitions are shared as much as possible. We always knew that the site would take off when a particular event sparked the it into action, and that opportunity presented itself when mobile operations announced punitive upgrade policies to iPhone 3Gs.
Two petitions were started (one for O2 and the other for AT&T) within hours of each other and both very quickly gained traction in both the press and on Twitter. Over the course of 3 days Twitition attracted over 130,000 visitors and the Twitition user account on Twitter shot up from almost zero to over 50,000 followers.

Results
In less than 18 months, Twitition has accrued over 40,000 twititions, 1.5 million signatures and 300,000 followers on Twitter. What’s more, the Twitition site gets over 1 million page impressions a month.
